This in conjunction with furlough days, reduced course offerings, fewer TA appointments, and increased costs across campus.Maggletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00505365390094177503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187697704542290373.post-11591087309947787842010-04-11T15:55:37.540-04:002010-04-11T15:55:37.540-04:00I am so pleased to finally see the truth in "...I am so pleased to finally see the truth in "print" -- or at least online! (And well stated.) Whenever I mention to anyone what happened to the last tuition increase they are shocked. I don't understand why the new media has not been reporting this.

While it's tough paying college tuition anywhere in these economic times (I have two kids in college myself) the tuition at SBU is set too low to support the quality of the institution. The out-of-state tuition, for example, is lower than the in-state tuition in Pennsylvania. The tuition at all SUNY schools is equal, even though the cost of education is not. And then the state KEEPS most of the money from the tuition increase. Totally outrageous.

Thank you, Owen, for your post. I encourage readers to forward it -- especially to those who pay tuition and vote.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12725304619992760443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187697704542290373.post-78797259973192429172010-04-11T12:32:10.645-04:002010-04-11T12:32:10.645-04:00The only comment I had heard about its closure was...The only comment I had heard about its closure was that it was costing a million dollars a year for 400-500 students.
